Fashionable hats for summer

Summer is the time when every woman wants to show how beautiful and fashionable she is. Not only clothes take part in forming the style. Accessories are also very important; no style can be complete without a trendy necklace, bracelets or other little details. As far as during this season of the year you have to cover your head for you may get sunstroke. A hat or a bonnet may become a perfect accessory to fulfill your style and express character.
The latest trend these days is a hat made of straws. What you must have in your wardrobe is a black straw hat with wide edges and a rounded vertex girded with a band. This kind of hat is definitely the most fashionable this summer. Although black is very popular, you may choose any other dark color that would fit better with your clothes. If you're planning a trip to the beach where women commonly wear light dresses, pick a white hat and you'll look perfect.

Another fashionable way to cover your head is a cap. Of course you have to pick them very carefully and it definitely goes with sporty style or jeans. Men should pick washed pigment-dyed caps. You don't have to buy a new one and make it look as if it was used for 10 years, you'll undoubtedly find those in any fashionable shop. While men are into "dirty" style, women are suggested caps with flowers. A bright colored cap will surely make you look trendy and add charm to your appearance.
It's a must for a real lady to have a bonnet. It's very hard to define what is on top, because top is originality. Large bonnets of any color decorated with flowers and bands are always trendy; however, you may find something very different and look amazing. Bonnets are not for everyday use. Original bonnet will make you noticeable and complete your style better than any other accessory.
If you can't find a hat or a bonnet that fits to your style or your face shape, choose an original and very practical way to cover your head. Wear a turban. Yes, it's very original and fashionable. You may choose any material and tie it up any way you like. It goes perfectly with any style. Moreover, it creates a characterized style.
Crocheted hats are also popular. However, there is one problem - it's rather hard to find one in a shop, because if you'll purchase not an original one you'll certainly notice other females/males wearing the same. You have to find an originally designed one or make it yourself. You can be sure that if it'll be self-made you'll receive compliments not only for hat but also for your good work.

Tokyo’s Fashion

Currently residing in Tokyo, Japan, I have noticed that beauty is something necessary for many females and males. Most women carry around designer bags and highly decorated cell phones with sparkle and flowers. Men carry designer wallets and wear cowboy fashioned shoes. One can easily notice that the people in Tokyo pay very close attention to the way they look. However, I must remind the readers that this is Tokyo fashion and not that of Japan. We all know that the fashion sense in New York is nothing like the one in Dallas. The ideals of Paris are not the ideals of Southern France. Therefore, Tokyo does not represent Japan neither culturally nor fashionably, and yet it's a common mistake to assume so.
www.yahoo.com
The women in Tokyo must be the hardest working, highest paying customers of beauty products. It seems most of the working women can't afford to go to their office without make-up. They would be perceived as unclean if they should ever appear without it. They also shave their arm hair, their legs, armpits, and pay extra close attention to their eyebrows and eyelashes. Beautiful eyes are those with double lids, heavy mascara, thick upper and lower lid eyeliner and a light-colored eye shadow. Eye-lid surgery, along with colored contact lenses, is very popular. For those who can't afford surgery, special glue and tape are sold to create the double eyelid as a temporary solution.
As for body shape, a large behind is not desirable in women, and it is better to have large breasts. Though not many Japanese women are born with large breasts. To solve this, breast enhancers of all varieties are sold from silicon cups to herbal medicines to even massages that claim to boost the breast size. Generally speaking, the women are very slim. The average woman is about 160 centimeters tall, or 5 feet and 3 inches. Weight loss advertisements, however, often portray women who used to weigh 58 kilograms (127 lbs) and now weigh 46 kilograms (101.5 lbs) thanks to this or that miracle solution! Everyone is very quick to notice if one has lost only one kilogram or so. And in come the compliments.

Tommy Hilfiger Makes The Cut

www.yahoo.com
In his new reality television show, "The Cut," fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger describes the elements of his fame with an acronym:
F - Fashion
A - Art
M - Music
E - Entertainment
Hilfiger explains that the key to his sustained success in the fashion industry has been his uncanny ability to fuse the four aforementioned elements in a tidy package that has mass appeal. Hilfiger launched his first collection in 1984, and netted profits of $11 million by 1986. But, of course, if you have visited any major department store in the past fifteen years, this is not hard to imagine. Hilfiger's spirited but casually colorful update on the classic preppy look has catapulted him into a household name. He has made chambray shorts and cotton collared shirts chic again. His collections fill the racks and people buy.
Hilfiger is also famous for his ability to forge great relationships with huge musical acts - including Nelly, Puff Daddy, Destiny's Child, the Black Eyed Peas, and No Doubt - to name a few! He has been praised for his ability to appeal to consumers through the use of celebrity endorsement. This methodology certainly fits into his "F.A.M.E." approach of creating a lifestyle brand, which he explains to the sixteen eager contestants selected to be a part of "The Cut."
In hopes of being chosen as the next great American designer, contestants will be put through the ringer. Hilfiger explains that each of the tasks, ranging from testing business instinct, to social skills, to sales and marketing, to design and creativity, are a part of the skill set necessary to achieve success in the competitive industry of fashion.
So, if you are reading this you are probably not a contestant on the show. That is okay! We think that you can gain valuable advice from Hilfiger anyway. In choosing the various tasks for the contestants, Hilfiger provides a guide for all design hopefuls. Fashion design is not just about design - at least not if you want to rule the fashion world! As you develop your design skills, it is also important to work on your ability to socialize, sell yourself and understand the numbers behind it all. Whether you seek "F.A.M.E" or a lucrative career in fashion, Hilfiger is a worthy model for success.

MODEL EXPECTATIONS
I am often asked by so many aspiring models, how to break into the industry. As in any fashion trade, modeling is an extremely competitive and cutthroat business. You've seen "Americas Next Top Model" and "Janice Dickinson's Modeling Agency" which glamorize the world of fashion shoots, runway shows and designer clothing. However to get to that working model stature, it can be quite a challenge.
However, models are needed on any level, from local boutique fashion shows to regional advertising campaigns to national cover girls. The steps to get to the top can be extremely difficult but not impossible. It is important to expect to work hard, listen to industry experts and build your book.
FIND A REPUTABLE AGENT
Don't be scammed into paying thousands of dollars by an agency that promises to make you famous. If living in a small town or city, research the agencies that actually work with professional clients, such as advertising and film production companies, and show producers. Don't sign with a company that claims to bring in outside scouts from LA and NYC. A real agent will help build your book so that you are ready to actually work in those markets.
START EARLY
It's no secret that models keep getting younger and younger. Some of the freshest faces on magazine covers are as young as 13. Getting an early start is an advantage that is worthy to explore if possible. However, models of every age continue to work in the industry every day.
BUILD YOUR BOOK
When going to a "Go-See" for a potential job, the client will ask to see your book or portfolio of pictures. Make sure your book is current with all of your previous experience and has a range of different looks you can achieve. To build your book, many new models work with professional photographers on test-shoots and even offer to model for student photographers. These jobs may not pay but can give you some amazing pictures for free.
TAKE A CLASS
Ask your reputable agent where you can take a class to work on posing for the camera or walking the runway. Many agents offer classes onsite to help their clientele improve their modeling skills, while some professionals also teach classes at fashion schools or on a private level.
SALARY EXPECTATIONS
Remember an agency will take 15-20% of what you earn on a paying job. This is unavoidable if you want to book the good gigs. Based on your current market, models are often paid a flat fee for the job. For example, an advertising client may pay $250/model per day for a 2-day shoot. Your agent will take their commission before taxes and then you will receive your check.
BE A REALISTIC SUPERMODEL
Giselle and Heidi Klum didn't expect to become internationally sensations and neither should you. Clients can spot the divas a mile away and are really looking for the fresh face that will work best for them. Have a positive and confident attitude and think big and you just may be the girl on the next cover of VOGUE.

The Connection Between Celebrities and Fashion

You are sitting at home in your comfortably flannel pajama pants and a pizza stained t-shirt. With a bag of potato chips in one hand and the remote in the other, you excitedly switch on the tube to watch the event of the year... well, at least of the week... the Academy Awards.
Which films have been nominated? You are not sure.
Who is the Oscar favorite for "Best Cinematography?" You do not care.
What will Halle be wearing?
How many diamonds will fit around Nicole's thin little wrist?
www.yahoo.com
YES! THOSE ARE THE QUESTIONS!
And thus we see the reason for the relationship between fashion designers and our favorite A-list celebrities. Calvin, Donatella, Marc, and the rest of the gang are certainly not fools! Fashion designers are aesthetically driven - they seek to create physical beauty inspired by their thoughts, ideas, and visions. This physical beauty is known to us as clothing. And how beautiful it truly is!
And what can be better than a meticulously constructed and designed floor length Vera Wang gown? A meticulously constructed and designed floor length Vera Wang gown on Julia Roberts! Fuse the most beautiful fashion designs with someof the most beautiful faces, bodies and people and the result borders on sublime - a sensory delight that keeps us tuned in and left wanting to emulate.
Flashback to the months leading up to my senior prom... just weeks after Gwenyth Paltrow won her Academy Award for "Best Actress", the racks of Macy's were overflowing with replicas of Paltrow's bubblegum pink ball gown. As much as we value our individual tastes and fashion sense, there is at least a part of us (no matter how small), that emulates the beauty we find in the world. This is natural, right?
I have heard that a celebrity wearing your gown/tux/creation to a red carpet event is worth over a million dollars in advertising. Further, they tell me that slipping a gorgeous frock onto an Academy Award winner is worth tens of millions of dollars in advertising. This does not seem to be much of a stretch. Beauty sells - making the relationship between fashion and celebrity brilliant.
